Oh dear. It has happened. First time in my life when I've thought about Christmas before Thanksgiving. Stupid commercialism has SUCKED me in. I hate it, but nonetheless here are some of my wishes for Christmas presents.

How do you feel about walking a log?

This doesn't freak you out does it? I was envisioning you pirched inside...

In the Land of Kudzu...It's a mess. I think it will look nice in b&w.

I'm really attached to this shot. Here begins the parking deck collection. I can't use all of them unfortunately, but I like a lot of them. This one reminds me of being caged in by my insecurities or vulnerabilities.


The light is just so beautiful in this one. Maybe if you stood in front of the sign it wouldn't be as noticeable? haha

I think this one would be a great one to throw into the bunch. I envision you walking down those stairs on the right...I would be up on level E of the North deck. It's like you're in a maze or just squished between these two bldgs. = compressed by overwhelming (negative) thoughts.

We Have to get this one! Although I'm not sure it plays on my idea as well as some of the others :(

This one is a must as well. It's so visually expressive.

"Welcome to..."

I don't know what your reception is going to be like, but I just thought this little "Welcome to Georgia" tag was adorable! It doesn't have to be attached to a straw, or it could also say, "Welcome to Taccoa" or "Welcome to...". Just thought it was a cute little touch.

Also, the burlap in the picture to the left would be great for a little side table, like your candy station. This material is very low key and would convey a comfortable feel.

The Question for Marissa is: Elegant and Ritzy or Down to Earth Fun?

The question is whether or not you want your wedding to be more low key, relaxed, casual, and fun in nature OR do you want something more glamorous, regal (done frugally of course!), and fancy???

Both can be done in creative, beautiful, and romantic ways.

Now don't be intimidated by these colors, these are just ideas to get your wheels spin'n!

Just imagine purple and green flags hanging above. You'll most likely have much simplier candies than these, but this is just a fun "old fashioned" candy bar. You definitely do this in a more laid back way and it would be creatively fun.

The easiest way to get cheap flowers for you wedding is to use ones that are in season for the date you've set. In Marissa's case she will need flowers that bloom in the summer for her June wedding. Here is a long list of summer flowers:

A Sage and Eggplant Wedding Palette

I will hopefully be compiling posts for Marissa's wedding in a year (next June 2011). So far all I know is that the following two things are important:

1. Sage green and eggplant purple will be the wedding colors.

2. This wedding must be a thrifty and affordable one! (as most have to be)
